Here at an open space located at the intersection of Water and White streets the vision seed was planted with determination and hope that it will reach fruition.Six raised beds (twelve by three foot) were assembled, lined with biodegradable cardboard, filled with soil, and planted with fall and winter crops. The ambitious growers sought out local purchases (many donations) of hemlock from Nichol’s Lumber Yard; barn spikes from Brookville Lumber Company; rebar from Glen Redi Mix and Herb Buller’s Construction Company; nine tons of soil from Earthworx; and Quiet Creek garlic, spinach, arugula, and thyme.
